The beautiful wife thinks the following picture is disgusting. She saw it one time and said, "Blah!!" I think it is interesting...the contrast between the legs looking so full of life and the ribcage looking so completely dead. I saw this poor guy/gal, (I did not look under its skirt for guy/girl proof), on the side of the road and I was instantly fascinated. So, if you have a weak stomach...don't enlarge the picture...but the deer is pictured exactly how I found him; Hooves up in a snow bank and waiting to be discovered. What do you think? I am curious to know what people's reactions are. At least I waved the vultures away before I took the picture!
When I inverted the picture...and cropped out the dead portion of the deer...it looked like it was just a picture of deer legs in motion through a forest. Interesting, eh?

13 Birdies Chirping in the Nest:
"The deer is pictured exaclty how I found him"....lord I hope so...or you'll be sleeping on the couch (or maybe the floor) tonight. EWWWW!!!!
LOL
Jody (The Beautiful Blogger-Challenged Wife)
For one of the only times in my life, I am sort of speechless!
I think I prefer your beautiful bird photography!
Love you.
Mom
LOL oh Bradley! You are a gem! :)
lol I love Jody's comment haha.
It's um ... interesting. Creepy but interesting. And when you edited the photo, it looks like a deer that is flying ... just like the ones Santa has teehee.
Oh, and lots of your readers need a Sammy fix, too!
I'm just sayin'.
Uh i'm on the side of beautiful wife! Gross!
yes, how about (SOON) the fantastic picture of Sammy getting his haircut last week!
The beautiful wife
I have to say this is probably the only blog where I will see this two days before Valentines. Is this my gift??
As an animal lover and basically a vegetarian-this picture really made me sad -but it is the horrific reality of nature's food chain...
Here in northern Michigan folks are more likely to say "A deer hit my car," than "I hit a deer with my car."
Roadkill's just a fact of life that makes one grateful for crows and buzzards, who tend to clean up more quickly and efficiently than those hired by the state or county.
I've never seen deer hooves this closely before. They're more elegant than I would have imagined.
Visceral capture, Bradley. Make a habit of this genre, and I'll worry about you.
Such interesting comments from everyone...as requested...Sammy pics have been posted :)
Thanks for visiting the nest everyone!

Oh Bradley, lol, you said: 'The beautiful wife thinks the following picture is disgusting.' - the beautiful wife might be just right, lol. Too funny upside down, lol. Anna :)
Life and death, all part of God's plan. I think that there is some beauty in both.
